Hello. Please meet the Habsburg family, famously known for their deformed, I mean prominent, jaw, caused by innnnnnnbreeding. Poor Charles 2 of Spain (lower right corner) was so deformed that he had trouble chewing his food and even drooled.

Now I'd like you to please notice that they have their very own bike path at CU. Isn't that sweet??

Hello. Let me introduce you to Igor. Mr. Igor, to you. He is a hunchback. I was going to introduce you to the Hunchback of Notre Dame, but the only pictures of him were either Lon Chaney, or the Disney Hunchback, both of which are too likeable to pick on in a blog.

And now I'd like you to note that Igor and Monsieur Notre Dame have their very own pedestrian path!! Wow, go CU!!

Now, where are the rest of us supposed to walk and bike??

EEEEEK!

For some reason this reminds me of terror-filled nights spent crammed into one twin bed with my baby sister. It reminds me of shrieking in the middle of the night, then being scolded by our parents for scaring them to death.

Hey, a kid can't help it if miller moths are the scariest thing on the planet to them!!

Gollumielle

Now today is the kind of day where I am continuously grateful to no longer have a customer service job.

I'm kinda sad today. and cranky. and I have a lot on my mind. And I'm stewing. and tired. and it's been very busy in here today.

My Mr. is also very busy, and when I think about his busy stuff, my head wants to explode, because he has an incredibly HUGE amount of details to work out right now! sometimes we both just have to take a step back and sigh a huge, lung-clearing sigh.

And I had the thought earlier...what if I felt this way and then had to go be a teller for eight hours?? Uggggggggggh!!

I certainly had to do that A LOT when I was a teller. Try to push icky, sad, or overwhelming thoughts down and force a smile on your face. and constantly have people scrutinizing you and calling you snotty if you don't look thrilled to see them. It's enough to put your stomach in a permanent knot. And it did.

So, today I'm thankful for my back-office, gollumtastic job. It's still been more people than I want to deal with today, and I've come close to growling at a couple of them a few times. In fact, I looked like this, I'm sure, when people came to my office NOT during store hours:

And while I'm grateful for my cave job today, at the same time...I'm hopeful and longing that I won't have to do this much longer. Not because it's not a good job, but because I'm ready for this season of my life to be through...
So, make haste, universities and colleges!! send interview letters to my Mr!!
PLLLLLEAAAAASE!?!?

a sneaky guy!!!

My Mr. is so very busy right now! Doctoral thesis projects, job applications, doctoral candidacy paperwork, journal publication proposals....the list really does go on and on and on. Basically he has no time for a talkative Danielley to pester him.
So guess what he did???
Last night, he stuffed me full of turkey dinner, until I thought I would split at the seams. Then, "how about a nap?" Okay! Then, he sneakily set an alarm, got up after 30 minutes, and left me to languish in my bed for 5 hours!!!
I guess he really DID need to get stuff done!
